Fellow Evaluation Review Process
IoA Fellows play an important role: our Fellows embody the IoA ethos of optimising human and machine insights to guide transformation for the benefit of business and society and ethical data analytics. We look to our Fellows to help promote professionalism, demonstrate best practice and serve as role models for the data leaders of tomorrow.
The IoA Review Committee will look at applications with the goal of recommending individuals who have demonstrated a significant impact and excellence in the field of data analytics and the highest standards of professional ethics. It is important to note that every application is given due consideration and that includes identifying who needs to participate in the selection process.
The Review Process
- Applications are received electronically via IoA’s website - Please apply here
- Applications will be shared securely with the Fellow Review Panel as soon as possible, so that if more information is required, the membership team can request it from the applicant
- The Fellow Review Panel will consist of 3 people and will use the Fellow criteria to assess each application received on its own merits in a virtual meeting
- A majority agreement that an application has or has not met the criteria will constitute a panel decision. The panel will provide a short feedback statement for the applicant, whether they are successful or not
- The committee meets every 4 months to review Fellow applications with the supporting documentation that you have provided. Fellow Review Committee meetings are held virtually at the end of January, May and September and the application will be reviewed at the next panel meeting, depending on when you apply during the year
- The IoA Employee panel member will notify the memberships team of the outcome on the same day of the meeting
- The applicant will be emailed by the membership team with the panel’s outcome decision within 7 working days of the meeting
- The membership team will activate the new Fellow’s Membership on the day of notification, when the panel has agreed that the applicant has met IoA’s Fellow criteria, unless
- Any applicants who are not successful, will be offered the opportunity to join the IoA at a different grade of membership and the difference in payment will be reimbursed.
- Any withdrawals will be reimbursed in full. Applicants will need to email hello@ioaglobal.org to request this in writing or to request to change to a different grade of membership
- Any current members who wish to apply for IoA Fellow are advised to email hello@ioaglobal.org to submit their application and attach their supporting documentation. If successful, the adjustment in the annual membership cost will be calculated and organised by the membership team via a payment link
The IoA Fellow Review Panel
The 3 panel members may be different at each meeting. The IoA may substitute a panel member if circumstances arise whereby a panel member is unable to attend the review meeting. A review meeting will be rescheduled if less than 3 people can attend.
Ideally, the panel consists of:
1 x IoA Honorary Fellow or Fellow
1 x Senior IoA Employee
1 x Independent Reviewer
Re-Submissions
Applicants who have not quite met the criteria for Fellow, can resubmit at any point where they feel they can evidence that they have made sufficient progress and contribution to the field of analytics providing their full set of evidence for review by the panel, or apply for our Senior Member grade, a recognition of leadership within organisations.
