Nominations are now open for our inaugural awards.

You can nominate yourself, or a friend, colleague, peer or team that you feel is leading the way in the field of data and analytics.

Categories

The categories for the 2022 Analysts Awards are:

This award highlights how data can be used to solve the humanitarian and environmental problems facing society today. It is open to individuals, teams and organisations working on projects and initiatives on a local, national or international level dedicated to helping people or the planet.

Examples of how to use Data for Social Good include:

Using deep learning, a cutting-edge type of artificial intelligence, to monitor animal populations for conservation [PNAS].

Using data to identify dependence on food banks to support early detection of families in need [The Welcome Centre].

It’s been said that “the best way to predict the future is to create it”. This award will go to an individual, team or organisation that is shaking things up in the world of analytics and data science with new thinking and innovative practices.

Examples of Innovative Research and Application include:

Increasing the use of digitalisation to develop a marketplace for data and to create benefits in the agri-food supply chain [Walton Institute].

Using data science to detect emerging styles of music [Data Science Lab @ Bristol].

This award recognises up-and-coming talent. It is open to students, graduates and young professionals with exceptional data skills who have demonstrated a strong commitment to ethical practice and shows the world that the future of data is in good hands.


How to nominate

You have until 25th November 2022 to submit your nomination. There is no cost to make a nomination and no obligation to be a member. All you need to do is register and demonstrate why your nominee is a deserving winner.

Please submit the following:

  • Short video (up to 2 minutes filmed on your smartphone or other device). We just want to hear from you in your own words.
  • Supporting statement with evidence (up to 1,000 words). This can be provided as multiple files in any file format.

Winners will receive:

  • Recognition and publicity
  • Special logo to commemorate your win
  • Free IoA membership for one year

All submissions will be reviewed by an independent judging panel.

The names of the shortlisted nominees will be confirmed in December 2022. Winners will be announced at an online celebration on 18th January 2023.
