Paul joined Swansea University in February 2022 he has extensive experience within the Higher Education sector having come from Plymouth University where he was IT Director for 8 years and successfully led their digital transformation strategy. Paul has worked at senior levels within both the public and private sectors including retail, banking, software engineering and central government with a proven track record of building cross functional teams to deliver major change programmes.
Since Paul's arrival he has put in place the University's Digital Strategy, re- organised the IT department to professional service delivery. This has included the introduction of a new Cyber Security team, Business Partner team, a larger and reformed Service Desk team, Change Control team and Contracts team.
Craig Walker operates a network of people working at higher education institutions who are committed to people-centred transformational change. His career started in digital control systems engineering in industrial contexts, then technology strategy with McKinsey & Company, followed by leadership of successful transformation programmes across a range of commercial and public contexts. He now focuses exclusively on higher education, having held leadership posts including director of timetabling and strategic lead for education infrastructure development. He is the recipient of two President's Awards from Imperial College Union, the students Union of Imperial College London and volunteers for the charity Employment Autism where he has been co-chair from 2018 to 2024.
