The IoA is proud to be the Networking Partner for this year's ODSC US events.

Taking place from 9-11 May 2023 at the Boston Hynes Convention Center, the Open Data Science Conference (ODSC) East is essential for anyone who wants to connect to the data science community and contribute to open source applications.

Its goal of bringing together the global data science community to encourage the exchange of innovative ideas and spur on growth in the open source data arena is one that chimes with the ethos of the Institute of Analytics. That is one of the reasons it has decided to sponsor the Recharge Lounge at both this event and ODSC West being held at the end of October in San Francisco.

The Recharge Lounge will be located in the Expo and open throughout the conference offering a dedicated place for delegates to take time out and also to connect with other people attending the event.

Dr Clare Walsh, the IoA's Director of Education, and Lara Millmow, Head of Membership, will be on hand throughout the conference to facilitate networking and answer questions about the IoA and its membership benefits.

Commenting on the ODSC, Dr Walsh said: "The ODSC is a calendar must for anyone interested in making open source data more accessible. The world faces so many challenges and open source data has the potential to find answers to big problems such as climate change, to give just one example.

"We recognise its importance at the IoA and, indeed, one of the winners of our 2022 Analysts Awards in the category of Data for Social Good was a collaboration between Microsoft, Babcock, the UK Government and numerous other stakeholders, which resulted in the creation of a social value data platform built on open-source data sets to provide an accurate picture of the socio-economic status of a defined area."
